The Clementine Dress Sew-a-Long Day 2

DAY 2

Hi! Welcome back for Day 2 of The Clementine Dress Sew-a-Long! Today we will sew the adorable Peter Pan Collar! So let's get started!

(Find The Clementine Dress pattern HERE!)
Sewing the Collar
With right sides together sew around the outer edge of each collar piece with a small stitch length. Trim seam allowance and clip curves. Turn and press.

* At this stage you can stitch the dress by sandwiching the collar between the main dress and facing with right sides together – however it can be easier if you baste the collar first!

Pin the collar to the neckline of the main dress. Ensure the two collar pieces meet at the centre front. Run a long basting stitch around the neckline.

Attaching the Collar and Facing to the Dress

Pin the collar over a touch as shown below before you sew it together...this will keep it from getting stitched into the armhole.

With right sides together pin the facing to the main dress (with the collar basted in-between). Ensure the shoulder seams are lined up. Sew the armholes and sew from the centre back around the neckline and down the other centre back. Over lock the two centre back seams. Trim the seam allowance and clip the corners and curves on all seams. Turn the dress the right side out by pulling the back sections through the shoulders (and the front). Press the dress around the neckline, armholes and centre back.
